WhoDat, FundDat and since a few month: EatDat. “Dat ducht mee oeg” is Plattdeutsch. This language is spoken in the area I grew up: Nordwalde – a little village in the Munsterland, Germany. It means: “I can confirm what you are saying.” Somehow I can identify with it in New Orleans. Even I am new in town. There is no doubt about a culturely identity in this city of New Orleans. I got involved in the WhoDat Nation straight away when we arrived in spring last year for the first time for a period of a month by supporting the founding process of the bidding platform FundDat. While I am reading the book “Eat Dat New Orleans” – Dat ducht mee oeg” got a new meaning about the food nation. This comprehensive update of the food and restaurant culture in New Orleans by Michael Murphy brought a new content rich flavor to the table of foody reads. Michael was able to gather some very valuable resources for anybody who likes to get a first deep breath of culinary insights with hints where you get more and can keep yourself updated about the topic. Tomorrow is the “dead line” for IdeaX. We will join the competition with a foody topic…Thanks for all the wonderful support!
Jeni Elliott call herself the Blog Maven. “Blog smarter” reached me. I thought give her try and sign up her newsletter. The beauty of her first issue I received yesterday? She finished with a call to action to interact with her. Right. This post I will twitter to interact with her. Do you know what: Jeni do not have this list of actions I should or shouldn´t do…First I thought your first newsletter does not reach me. I felt it was too long for my taste. I am quite clear what I want to achieve with my blog. Even I am far away from it. It´s all about Personal Branding, Interactive Interaction and Mobile Marketing or shorten Personal.Interactive.Mobile. But I finished reading her first post. Yes- I start boiling the water like Mike every morning to prepare tea or coffee. It´s not hot yet. But the sound from the kitchen will reach me soon. In the meantime I switched on the music to have fun like you. You wanna dance for me? Welcome! Yes, writing this blog to introduce and meet people should make fun. I do this over three years and it is great that it somehow has purpose – even there is not much interaction on the blog itself. Thank you. We can call it freedom.
Today I am going to talk about the “new thing” e-mail- marketing and Mike Marino in my fourth speech at the Toastmaster´s International New Orleans. Mike is almost 30 years member of the club and the members get regularly emails from him about a lot of different aspects of life. He played a substantial role in our club – he became what we call Distinguished Toastmaster” which is the highest role of achievement as a toastmaster and he was fortunate enough even to make a living from his speaking engagements. His specialty: humours speeches. Beside this Mike created tons of information about the topic public speaking and achieves the “Platinum Level Expert Author” Level at Ezines. When you sum up “Mike Marino” and “e-mail-marketing” in one word we can also call it “Mike Marino Newsletter”. I intend to suggest tonight to create such a format and to honor our long lasting member as a role model for all of us who come together to work on our speaking and leading skills.
we just don´t make any excuses anymore!
That was the year we married and decided to live together.
My LinkedIn contact Sterling Davis walks the extra mile by writing the article: “Three Simple Ways to Create an Enduring Personal Brand“.
Let me reflect what he said on a business case:
1. I do search volume analysis for placing smart phone apps on the smart phone stores. I do it because all developer normally approach the market from a solution point of view. For me the app stores are nothing else like other digital markets as well. Apps also existed even before the mobile market even existed. I do not differ what the piece of software can do or don´t. That is not relevant to me. It´s just the new and more highly approached communication channel.
2. Let´s get specific: I do own an app for the keyword “Personal Branding”. It was originally created for a discussion group owner on the German speaking equivalent of LinkendIn called Xing. A lot of English marketing terms a also used in German. Now I am looking for partner who like to position content in the personal branding niche by using my app. The current search volume for this keyword is 4.400 searches per month and we can still reach one of the first positions in the stores.
3. Yeah. I should speak directly with people who are working in this niche. How about posting this message in the Personal Branding Group on LinkedIn. Let´s see if there are already people who think about getting mobile:–))) I hope so – because my claim is nothing more than the truth!
